Meet the Trainer: Grace Floreske, KPA-CTP

Hi, my name is Grace! I am the owner and trainer at CK9. My love for dog training began in college when I volunteered as a puppy raiser for a service dog organization, however I have always had a passion for dogs in general. I raised 2 dogs from that organization and both have become amazing service dogs for their recipients.

I spent 5 years working in veterinary medicine before switching gears to turn my hobby and passion for dog training into a full time job.

I now have a 2 year old doberman (pictured) & a puppy coming later this year.

My dog training methods focus on teaching clients how to effectively communicate with their dog while prioritizing the relationship between dog & guardian. My approach utilizes primarily positive reinforcement, which is largely backed by science as an effective and appropriate method of learning.

FAQs

  • Each dog learns at their own rate. The number of sessions will depend on the amount of time it takes for your dog to understand a skill and your confidence to work through the skill without my assistance.

  • Yes! Service dog training will be a case by case basis. I will evaluate your service dog prospect to ensure the dog is a good candidate.

Tasks we offer may include medical alert, item retrievals, behavior disruption, crowd control and non weight bearing mobility tasks. If a task you are looking for is not listed, please reach out!

*Service dogs are only trained for disabled individuals as defined by the ADA"

  • These sessions can last up to one hour on zoom. During each session, we will focus on areas where you are facing challenges or have concerns and create a detailed plan for moving forward.

I will assign training exercises as "homework" to be completed between sessions, similar to in-person sessions. You will send me videos of your practice, which I will review and provide feedback on in our next session. This part of virtual training is crucial as it helps bridge the gap of not training in person.
